No photos this time around

The next time I do a set of heavily edited photos, I am thinking I am going to post re-sized version of the originals so that all who look at this can see the differences. The changes are rather dramatic - and when I look at the original, I am always surprised as to how "bland" the original photo is; almost to the point of asking "why did I ever think this was a cool photo?" Well, the answer is simple: I knew what i could possibly make from it. It's just too bad that the original loses so much of it luster with me.

High Dynamic Range

I took a couple of photos for a friend as a favor this weekend. I used a method (rather than a technique) called HDR (High Dynamic Range). It combines several of the same photos taken at different exposures to give the resulting photo all ranges of exposure.

A problem that results in nearly all photographs is that the sky might be too blown out and over exposed while the foreground looks fine. Or, the foreground might be too dark while the sky looks great. HDR, when you have a tripod and the proper software, defeats all of that.

I also used different application of color for these images. That is why one is more green while the other has color more associated with being in the sun.
